Pauline Burbidge
Pauline Burbidge has two ranges of quilts.
The Quiltline quilts are her usable, functional pieces designed especially for home interiors. Each quilt is original and unique, with a distinctly contemporary air, like a one-off drawing - using stitch as line and applying rich colours using special fabric paints. These quilts are completely colour fast, of course.
The Quiltworks are her very special studio quilts, made for walls. These are often large-scale fabric collages, stitched, layered, painted and textured. These pieces are of museum quality and have been purchased by the major museums of the UK, including the Victoria & Albert, the Whitworth and the Glasgow Museums.
