Artist's Statement

The slides shown here are of ink jet prints on paper created using the electronic equivalents of traditional drawing and painting techniques found in MetaCreation painter and Adobe Photoshop. I draw directly into the computer using a Wacom drawing tablet and pressure sensitive pen.

My attitude towards image making and content is the same in both computer-based work and drawing and painting. Images and content are not predetermined but are discovered during the process. I rely on the fact that spontaneous expression has an intelligence that is non-linear and non-logical, much like our dreams. The purpose of my creative process is to unclog this channel of intuitive action and allow it to operate.
