Based on a colour-photo postcard this picture marked a transition from mixed media to coloured card predominantly and was the first fully constructed picture I made. There is an element of experiment in every picture as apart from a new subject each time the treatment has to suit the subject which also changes. Here I've gone for a consistency of geometric form as an aesthetic choice apart from small details like fishing floats. One of my strongest motivations is to develop a new style a new vision and dimension for the context of a 2-D wall-hanging.
