Corozo Collection:
The items of this collection are primarily made from palm tree seeds that grow in Tropical America. These seeds called corozo have a bony consistency and they look very much like ivory. In fact they are also known as vegetable ivory.
Their harvest does not damage the plant because they are extracted from the ripe fruits.
The seeds are assembled with ecrù or black cotton laces; knitted together through an oriental skill called macramé.
The variation in colour shape and dimensions between the seeds are the main factors behind the shades of divergence that characterize the collection.
This necklace can be reproduced but - due to the variability in the knotting and the difference between individual seeds - each piece is never perfectly the same.
