Design Proposal Shell International Upstream Building

The proposal utilizes the three windows above the entrance to the Shell Upstream Building; each window being 3 meters high and 3 meters wide:

This leads into a reception area which is lavishly decorated with marble. The design loosely mimics some of these marble colours. I have also made widespread use of blue and variables of this colour - blue holds light well because of its position in the colour spectrum. The lead lines in this design are an integral part of the composition and not merely functional. The use of lead for support and manageability is less relevant today with the production of large sheets of toughened glass and the use of enamels. However I think that some of the vibrancy of colour that I am trying to achieve would be lost by this method.
